K-REACH is a Korea Chemical Regulation published by Ministry Of Environment.
There are several mandatory regulatory compliance points.
1. Pre-registration
: Before Joint registration, manufacturer or importer need to conduct a pre-registration to get
the grace period.
- >1000ton/ >1ton CMR : 2021
- 100-1000ton : 2024
- 10-100ton : 2027
- 1-10ton : 2030
2. Joint registration
: According to the grace period, companies need to joint the joint registration consortium and prepare
the joint registration with other companies in there.
3. New chemical notification/registration
: For below 0.1ton/ann of new chemical, need to conduct new chemical notification.
but for over 0.1ton/ann of them, need to conduct new chemical registration with toxicity data.
- To check if a chemical substance is new chemical or not, please check in NCIS.
National Chemicals Information System
Chemicals Search You can search using CAS No. Chemical name in Korean, Chemical name in English, Chemical Number (Toxic substance, Phase-in substance, and Chemical’s unique number, etc.) When there is no matching result, or the substance is only marked o

- For Toxicity data, it will depend on the annual tonnage band of the new chemicals.

: Before New chemical registration, these exemption points need to be checked.
if it is matched with those exemption points, companies can do the registration exemption for
new chemicals.
[Exemption points]
- Chemical for R&D
- Chemical reagent for Scientific analysis or research
- Low comcern polymer
- Surface treating materials
- Non isolated intermediate
- Isolated intermediate with specific condition
- Chemical for an export of all amount
